A game played out in difficult wet weather conditions the boy's bounced back from the criticism of last week in exactly the right way with a big step up in performance levels and attitude. This was a very challenging game especially for the goalkeepers and Sam had to be very brave at time's going in for a few 50/50 challenges in which he won every one so well done Sam and if your Goalies on form it filters through the whole team likewise our two centre halves Koshin and Dawid who were immense today, but this makes it sound like we were under a lot of pressure which we were at times but I felt we could have defended all day today and not concede a goal. We also as the score line shows had an awful lot of attacking possession, Midfield generals Alex and Carl were also a massive engine room for the team winning countless tackles and setting up numerous attacking options for the team and if they can both play like that every week this team will go far..
Luke was on fire today finishing fantastically well and scoring four of our goals and is rapidly becoming a much improved talent for the team as his play is developing to an extent where he is bringing other players more into the game where this was not always the case in the past. Our fifth goal was put away by kerry who was very unlucky not to have a second with the ball just creeping past the post. At 4-0 up at half time we were looking comfortable but in contrast to last week we kept up our performance levels and closed the game out so I was very pleased.
I've singled out some individuals for this report but everyone deserves credit for today's victory, a real team effort in which all our players showed what they are truly capable of so well done to all.
Next week we are away to Hampstead so hopefully we can take momentum from this win into that game.
Final thought, the players have all expressed a wish to continue the Saturday morning training and this was definitely beneficial to the squad this week so me and Paul will endeavour to keep it going for the immediate future the only concern is too much footie in a three day period so to combat this the Saturday stuff will be technique and tactical stuff where as Friday will become the more fitness based session.
