Notes:
Good win for the 17's
By Les Blaxall.

The under 17's had to work hard to grab all 3 points against Celtic today,

The fixture is always a physical affair, and both teams went all out for the win. The first half was quite even, with Eagles "shading it" with the better chances.

The hot weather conditions and concrete like pitch made the task harder,

After the break we went into the second half with a lot more purpose, with Jack and Jake putting us 2-0 up with 15 mins.

Celtic nicked a goal back after a goal mouth scramble for 2-1, Eagles then enjoyed long periods of possession, with at least 5 good opportunities to put the tie out of reach of the visitors.

Daniel pulled off a fantastic double save to keep us ahead, late in the half dispite having injured his wrist in the warm up.

The tie ended at 2-1 with the lads in high spirits,

MOM; Ian for his unselfish attitude, as he had to play in the unfamiliar position, at left back, he gave 100% and played the position brilliantly, unfortunately he limped off 5 mins from time with a foot injury.

Tom Harrison also had a great game at right back, neutralising the Celtic wing play.

Jake was solid at wide left, linking up with the Eagles attack to good effect

A big thanks to Elliot and James for helping coach from the sidelines,

Well done guys!

Les
